凡是能改編成電影的與影評暢銷的都該是不錯的選擇，而且這類書比較容易買到或找到。不知發問者喜歡那類的小說，而且沒表明是要英文原文的還是中文翻譯的。
我看過且覺得值得先看的英文原文書是Dan Brown的五本暢銷小說：
Digital Fortress, Deception Point, Angels and Demons, TheDa Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol。
而前兩本與後三本的可以分成兩個系列，我建議前一系列從Digital Fortress看起，後一系列可以從Angels and Demons先看起。
作者DanBrown的小說故事情節緊湊，且含有大量需要解謎的推敲與冒險過程，有高度可看性且讓人想看下去結果到底如何，部分故事的解謎任務還需輔以圖型的推演，所以插圖也讓讀的時候容易理解作者的表達。
雖然是也有些難度高的字，但如不逐字翻查字典也應能大致了解故事發展(誇張點說，我以為不會比讀紅樓夢的生詞還多多少)。
